The
Spanish composer is still listening to the world. He seeks its purity in sound
when the relation between cause/effect is broken. A modern reading of the Greek
acousmatics (akousmatikoi) where the pythagoreans listened to their
master from behind the black veil, without seeing him. Francisco López
listens to the world with the eyes shut, and reconfigures it accordingly to
the secret logic of sound. With so many interesting sounds in reality, the uselessness
of adding more elements to the world or even of imitating them is revealed.
Within this radical process of refinement to the extreme of the musical purism,
he rejects all of the visual, relational, semantic, functional and virtuosistic
elements. All that is left is the wonderful essence of sound. The complex territories
of a new aural perception, rediscovered by the force of immersion. On the deep
listening, López makes acoustic art from locations. To this absolute
musique-concrete, the composer likes to call the “belle confusion”.

This
mcd, placed within Francisco López more silence oriented
pieces, is a new approach to his soft and abstract conception of the world
as a generator of sound.
Within
the audible texture, the drone comes and lies down on a bed of a subtle pulse.
The composition then develops in a progressively but dramatic way. On a single
breath, the sole theme of constant intensity fills the hears with velvet bass
tones.
The
Spanish composer working closer to silence, within the physical boundaries
of sound, exploring our fascination for the lower frequencies.
